Aniemails · Experimental development study

From within.

A breath, a gathered body, then a slow stretch. The soft version explores a more mammalian sense of effort; the folded shell remains beside it for comparison.

01 · Soft coat, breath, and muscle

A rounded head and short, velvety coat; a fuller chest and haunch. The chest expands before moving; the body gathers, then releases into a longer tail.

02 · Folded shell

A faceted section carries shallow folds. They open behind the swelling as the body lengthens.

What this study is testing

Does the preparatory breath and slower release make the soft body feel more animal? Compare its gathered posture with the release. Switch to a silhouette to see whether the action survives without shading.

The trunk is a continuous surface whose cross-sections change size and position. The head and open eye are protected pieces; the trunk root stays embedded in the head. The mammalian version uses authored breathing and muscular gestures; it does not simulate anatomy, fluid pressure, or biological tissue. The folded shell is a geometric interpretation, not a mechanical shell solver.

The head comes from the existing drawing study. This tail and the side anatomy are new explorations. No automatic idle movement or sound. Reduced motion keeps manual pose controls.
